The Liesl Collection is a story of art carried forward. Created in collaboration with Andrea Monath Schumacher, the collection transforms the extraordinary body of work by her grandmother, Elizabeth Burger Monath, into wallcoverings designed for contemporary interiors.
Liesl's career spanned more than five decades and crossed continents. Trained in Vienna and Paris and later working in New York, she explored woodblock printing, intaglio, painting and illustration with a spirit of curiosity and experimentation. Her work reflects a global outlook shaped by modernism, travel and material exploration. Working closely with Andrea, The Vale London has translated this legacy into a series of wallcoverings that honour the original artworks while giving them new life on the wall.
