About The Vale London

A Note from Our Founder

Welcome to The Vale London.

I founded The Vale London to bring authentic, original artwork into the spaces we call home, deeply personal places crafted for living today. Our name is a nod to the Chelsea street where I spent my childhood, inspired by the comfortable elegance and quiet beauty of South West London that first shaped my perspective. My intention has always been simple: to create "home couture" infused with art, narrative and individual character.

At The Vale, we believe that true luxury lies in the human hand. Every one of our textiles, wallcoverings and trims begins in our studio as an original hand-drawn or painted piece. Rooted in personal experiences, deep creative research, global travels and museum archives, each pattern carries a distinct story. We translate these creative journeys into tactile, narrative pieces designed to be discovered, gathered and cherished for years to come.

We stand for craftsmanship, longevity and thoughtful design. Partnering exclusively with master artisans and exceptional mills across Europe, the United Kingdom and India, we focus on natural fibres and traditional techniques. Every collection builds upon the last, connected by the unifying thread of colour to form an ever-evolving design library.

Guided by a commitment to environmental stewardship and social integrity, we create enduring pieces meant to transcend seasonal trends. From eco-conscious production methods to supporting local artisan communities, we strive to celebrate art and craftsmanship in a way that is responsible, welcoming and lasting.

Thank you for joining us on this journey, and for inviting our collections into your home.

Patterns Drawn from London Interiors

Many patterns are reflective of the interiors of the London townhomes where Melinda grew up, evoking a sense of nostalgia and comfort, of storied traditions and nods to classic luxury.

Every Collection Is Named After London

While The Vale's collections and monikers share a deep sense of home, many of the prints and patterns are inspired by global travels. Each Vale collection's namesake is an area of London explored by Melinda as a child or discovered as an adult.

A sense of wonder and curiosity is evident in each collection and offers viewers a glimpse of faraway lands and age-old artisanship. One is transported to the flora-filled jungles of Panama, a safari in Tanzania. The influence and blend of global, artisanal traditions is apparent within each collection. From Venetian marbling to West African mud painting, all art-forms are celebrated and serve as inspiration.

The Vale's collections can be playful and full of surprise or tempered and traditional. It's the contradiction of classic design paired with modern interpretations that makes The Vale so special.
